Aussie rum makes markAT THE recent International Wine and Spirit Competition in London, a little-known rum called Holey Dollar Gold Coin snaffled the trophy for best rum against some top-notch producers. What's more, the Holey Dollar Rum Distilling Company came to fruition just last year, and the winning rum has only been on the market for two months. According to the distiller, Stuart Gilbert, the rum is a re-creation of quality spirits available in Australia more than 200 years ago.Scholarly pursuitTHERE are only a couple of weeks left to apply for the 2010 Galli Estate Italian wine scholarship program known as L'Erudito, which includes a two-day masterclass and an added bonus for the dux €” a $10,000 wine trip to Italy.
